Farm wedding venues offer something special for couples
Here are 5 Reasons why you should consider booking a farm wedding venue for your wedding
Picking where to hold your wedding is the first big decision you will make as a newly engaged couple. With various options for wedding venues available, it can feel overwhelming with the amount of choice available to you. Many couples are now opting for more unusual wedding venues, and something different from your usual run-of-the-mill style wedding.
Farm wedding venues have become a popular choice, set in natural surroundings accompanied by rustic features and rolling countryside views. We are of course a little biased, but believe that farm wedding venues offer something special for couples who want an enjoyable, relaxed, unique wedding day.
Here are Huntsmill Farm’s top 5 reasons why you should consider a farm wedding venue

1. The History
Farm wedding venues are often unique, and benefit from having a wealth of history behind them. Many are made up of converted barns or farmhouses, giving the venue a rustic charm compared to other types of wedding venues.
Huntsmill Farm is not only a farm wedding venue but is also still our family-run arable farm, and some of the farmland has been in our family for four generations! In 2018 we converted our 18th century stone barn into the wedding venue we are known for now, but this was once made up of two separate barns. What is now our wedding breakfast barn was once originally known as the threshing barn, where the harvest would have been stored. And our now ceremony barn, was once where livestock would have been kept downstairs in the winter, with a hayloft upstairs.

2. The Beautiful Countryside Views
The British countryside is blessed with beautiful scenes of rolling hills, greenery, and trees as far as the eye can see. Farm wedding venues have become ideal wedding venues, with their picturesque views making for fantastic backdrops for your photographs.
We specialise in arable farming at Huntsmill Farm, meaning many of our fields are full of Spring Barley and Winter Wheat, depending on the time of year.

3. The Space
Farm wedding venues benefit from having vast space around the venue. Not only does it mean that you and your guests will have space for your wedding and not feel like you are on top of each other, but you have lots of beautiful scenic countryside for you to capture photographs of your day.
A great benefit to having space at your wedding venue is the creative freedom it gives you, with ample space to make your venue your own. Here at Huntsmill Farm, we are lucky to have beautiful gardens surrounding our wedding venue, with lots of space for our newly married couples to enjoy welcome drinks with their guests, alongside garden games and canapés.

4. The Ever-Changing Landscape
One of the benefits of farm wedding venues is that the landscape changes throughout the year. The views will change with flowers popping up, different crops will be growing in the fields, and the change in seasons can bring colorful leaves.
Depending on the time of year you visit us at Huntsmill Farm, you might see different crops and flowers in our fields and various wildlife, and in autumn our beautiful Virginia Creeper turns a gorgeous red colour!

5. Rustic Accommodation For Your Guests
Many farm wedding venues have the luxury of being able to offer on-site accommodation for your wedding guests. At Huntsmill Farm we have seven self-catering cottages available as part of your wedding with us, sleeping up to 32 guests.
Included in our cottages is our honeymoon suite, The Old Dairy, I’m a luxurious space to make you feel extra special on your wedding day. Our largest cottage, Blacksmiths Cottage, also recently had a mini-renovation to give it a more comfortable rustic cottage feel.
