Wedding Breakfast Layout – Round vs Trestle Tables

_August 22

At Huntsmill Farm we hold wedding breakfasts in our beautiful 18th century stone barn and can provide circular or rustic trestle tables.

We’ve put together a short guide that will help you visualise what the different wedding breakfast table layouts can look like for your special day.

So, you’ve decided how many guests you’d like to join you for your special day – but now – you need to think about the table layout.

At Huntsmill Farm we hold wedding breakfasts in our beautiful 18th century stone barn and can provide circular or rustic trestle tables – the choice is completely up to you!

Our table styles can be arranged to fit different numbers of guests.

We’ve put together a guide for you so that you can visualise what the different wedding breakfast table layouts will look like.

Round Tables

Many couples opt for a classic, round table layout. Our Wedding Coordinators will work with you to create a layout suited to your number of guests. All our round tables can fit up to nine people per table.

Here are a few different options you can choose from:

100 guests round table layout

If you have 100 guests we can fit eleven round tables in the barn. The two tables closest to the bar will be removed after your wedding breakfast to make room for your evening guests.

50 – 70 guests round table layout

For table layouts of 50 or 70 people, we can set up tables of eight and nine guests which will be left in place during your evening reception.

What about the top table?

We have two choices for this. You can either have a long top table at the top end of the barn in the same place that our trestle table layout would work. Or it can be placed in the middle on the left-hand side of the barn if you’d prefer to be in the middle of your tables.

It varies from couple to couple; some like to have a long top table whereas others use a round table – the choice is yours! Take a look at the pictures below to see which layout you prefer.

Trestle Tables

During the 2020 lockdown, Henry created our beautiful rustic trestle tables which have offered couples another wedding breakfast table layout option. Since their creation, they’ve been very popular and can be used in a variety of ways.

Similar to our round tables, we can sit 55, 70, or 100 people with our trestle tables for your wedding breakfast table layout. Each of our tables can fit 3 people on each side and another guest sat between the join of the two tables.

100 guest trestle table layout

If you choose to go for the 100-guest table layout, the trestle tables closest to the bar will fit more people. Then, we can sit another 16 opposite the bar. When your evening guests arrive, we will remove these tables opposite the bar and the last two tables on the left-hand side.

55 – 70 guest trestle table layout

For a maximum of 70 people, our trestle tables are arranged in a horseshoe layout and will be left this way during your evening reception.

Here are a few examples of trestle table layouts to inspire you:

What if I’m having a smaller wedding?

Smaller weddings at Huntsmill Farm aren’t a problem! Our rustic trestle tables have been used for wedding breakfast table layouts for smaller guest numbers. We’ve previously arranged them for weddings of 15-30 people.

With a smaller wedding, we usually place the trestle tables together for you to eat in a more banquet style. Alternatively, you can have a smaller horseshoe layout for 30 people. Either way provides a lovely intimate wedding breakfast and it’s a great way to enjoy time with all your guests.
