Huntsmill Renovation,
The Granary Cottage

_September 11

The Granary is one of our seven self-catered cottages at Huntsmill Farm and sleeps 4-6 people.

In February 2022, the cottage was given some TLC and now our couples have a bright space to stay the day before and night of their special day.

In 2020, we had a huge renovation project upgrading The Old Dairy. After it was completed, it inspired us to start working on The Granary; another on-site cottage that our couples get exclusive access to.

We knew that a fresh new look was overdue and wanted The Granary to match the standards we had created for The Old Dairy.

The Granary is one of our seven self-catered cottages at Huntsmill Farm and sleeps four to six people. The two-storey stone barn conversion has two ensuite bedrooms; a double and a twin/double.

The Granary also has a family bathroom, a lounge with a sofa bed that can sleep another two people, and a kitchen with a dining area.

We finished work on The Granary just in time for our lovely couples to view at our open day in February 2022.

Kitchen and Dining Area

In the kitchen and dining area, the most noticeable change is the white marble tiles which now complement the stone walls of Granary. We also replaced the cabinets and worktops with cream cabinets and a wood worktop. The cream accessories in the kitchen accompanies this and gives a more rustic cottage feel.

You’ll also be able to spot new wooden flooring throughout the kitchen and dining area, a new skirting board, and a fresh coat of paint.

Alongside the exposed beams and stone wall, the new flooring adds to the rustic vibe. The space now looks much brighter! It’s a great place for your guests to sit and have a cuppa over breakfast before getting ready for the big day.

The Lounge

In the lounge, we wanted to update the interior design while still keeping the bright, clean look it already had.

We decided to choose the same flooring as in the kitchen and dining area. The skirting boards and walls have also had a refresh to make them look brighter and we replaced the light fittings to modernise the look.

One of the biggest changes you may have noticed is that we have two new sofas!

We added the luxurious leather look sofa to complement the rustic feel of The Granary. It adds a touch of sophistication and it’s a great place to rest the morning after a busy wedding.

The cream sofa on the left doubles up as the sofa bed; sleeping another two guests.

Bathroom

The bathroom has also had a refresh. The original flooring and bathroom tiles have remained the same but the skirting boards and panelling around the sink and bath have been painted white. This is nicely complemented by the large window bringing in lots of natural light.

What do you think to Granary’s makeover?

We hope you like The Granary’s new look! It’s great to look back on the before photos to see how it’s improved. We love welcoming our couples and their loved ones to the upgraded space.
