One of the many amazing things about living in Britain is that we are surrounded with beautiful countryside within half an hour drive from where ever we are. More recently the wedding industry is finding that newly engaged couples flee London looking for one of these charming location to hold all of their guests on the big day. This is no surprise as out in the countryside you can find some beautiful locations such as, charming historic villages with many tales to tell, Cotswold fields draped in wild flowers and 18th century stone barns set in the majestic countryside.

The British countryside is the ideal environment if you are looking for a classic rustic wedding. Every year the picturesque views differ slightly with wild flowers popping up all around the farm, big trees full of bloom and farmer Chris’s crop sprouting up ready for harvest. This ever changing landscape is something we are proud of and look after to make sure every couple has that ‘amazing shot’ amongst our fields. We know how important wedding pictures are as the most rememberable keep sake after the big day.

On this farm we specialise in arable farming, growing Spring Barley and Winter Wheat which is used towards bread and oats. Currently at this time of the year everything is still in the ground thriving and we will be looking to harvest from the end of July until beginning of September. Amongst the fields we also have many wild Rabbits and Hares popping their heads out regularly along with Muntjacs, Fallow and Roe deer. On the other side of the farm where the wedding magic happens we have our beautiful garden and courtyard which is at the moment full of seasonal spring summer flowers such as Foxgloves, Lupins, Corn Flowers, Red Valerian and Geraniums which are making their way up the Old Dairy Steps and Perennial wall flowers in the courtyard.

One of the greatest benefits of hosting a wedding in the countryside is the space, this leaves the couples to have more creative freedom with what they would like to have at the venue. There is nothing better than your first drink as a married couple on the lawn with all your guests and having the opportunity to enjoy games and canapés.

Having all of your loved ones close during the celebrations will no doubt be on the top of your to do list. Our farm offers seven self-catered cottages arranged in the courtyard adjoining the wedding barn and farmhouse. They are the perfect place for your nearest and dearest to stay and enjoy the whole experience with you! Better yet, accommodation on site also means nobody has to drive, and everybody can join in on the festivities late in the night and the next morning.
