Everyone I’d like you to meet Emily! Emily has been a member of the team here for almost a year now and we’re so happy she’s part of the Huntsmill Farm family. Many of you will already know and have met Emily and so will know what a warm and welcoming presence she is. You might have also experienced the odd ‘Emilyism’ as we like to call it, as she sometimes likes to get creative with the English language. If a legitimate word doesn’t fit the bill, Emily will more than happily create new one to illustrate her point! What you might not know is that Emily has a real dislike for tinsel and greetings cards! Don’t hold that against her though as she’s an amazing wedding and events coordinator who’s super friendly, fun and so excited about every wedding, event and showround she does. See her fab Q&A below!

Let’s talk weddings!
How/why did you become a wedding coordinator?
I originally began my career within hospitality but got involved with the operational side of small events and weddings, I knew its where I wanted my career to go and what I thought suited me as a person! I eventually got a job more heavily involved with managing weddings and events and grew from there. I love being involved in couples wedding days and meeting them and their loved ones along the way. It’s always such a happy day and I love being a part of it!.
What advice would you give someone planning their wedding?
Enjoy the preparations as much as the actual day! Ensure the day reflects you both as a couple and always trust your instincts as they are generally right and always get wedding insurance.
What are your top three tips for choosing a wedding venue?
- Make sure the venue feels right and somewhat reflects you as a couple
- Find a venue that provides diversity throughout the day, i.e. that can provide different looks day to night and continue to give wow factors
- Ensure you have confidence in the venue coordinators/ wedding planners and feel you can build a good rapport with them
What are your wedding day do’s and don’ts?
- Do enjoy every moment as it goes so fast
- Don’t worry if your guests are enjoying themselves or not – they are!!!
What wedding trends are you loving right now?
- Long rustic tables
- Floral clouds and hanging displays
- Bold colours
- Relaxed dining styles; sharing boards and tapas style
Who is your dream celebrity wedding couple?
Tom and Giovanna Fletcher! I just love them and Tom’s wedding speech is my all-time favourite! If you’ve not seen it then check it out here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=27WufdasQYs
What’s your favourite wedding blog to read?
What’s your favourite part about working in the wedding industry?
Meeting new people and seeing the precious memories that are made on their big day.
If you were getting married now what would your wedding day look like?
I went all greens with my wedding and I would probably stick with that colour scheme as I love it! Lots of foliage and botanicals and definitely floral hanging displays as they are so effective. Lots of sharing boards, comfort food and great music! I love that bridal wear is evolving in choice and style so would look at something different to the traditional wedding dress.
Why do you think couples should choose Huntsmill Farm?
There are so many reasons! Aside from its beautiful grounds, perfect photo backdrops and amazing staff (!!!!) it provides the ultimate wedding experience. The stone barn is so versatile in complimenting any theme or colour and allows each couple to make it their own. The free flow of the barn also ensures guests are kept together and able to enjoy all aspects of the day. The accommodation is so unique in terms of providing a home from home experience and creates such a social atmosphere. It enables couples to have an extended celebration period rather than just the wedding day itself. Huntsmill also transforms from day to night and creates the most beautiful ambience during the evenings processions as well as the scenic views that are enjoyed throughout the day.
